My personal statement:
I see myself as self-motivated person who enjoys new technical and creative challenges. During the past few years I was concentrating on Adobe Flash platform. Also, currently I am looking forward to gaining new knowledge with native Android, HTML5 and Adobe AIR development. I believe that my strong programming background and natural creative flair will allow me to develop engaging interactive experiences. Whilst I have extensive knowledge in IT, I am also very passionate about it. I prefer collaborative teamwork as in my opinion it can bring fantastic results. Finally, I am always looking to expand and develop my current skills and qualifications.
About this website:
Like most developers, I decided to create a personal web space to present my work, my skills and myself for future employers or clients. As my career as a developer goes on, this online portfolio will grow and develop with my skills and experience. I always try to update it when I have something new to show. As well as showing work that I have produced whilst working at different companies, I also have included some experimental work and work in progress, which I have done during my free time or at university. Some projects cannot be published due to the fact that they are copyrighted, but I usually add some screen-shots or links to them. This website also has the latest version of my CV and references. So take your time, have a look and I hope you enjoy!
For me, computers have always been so much more than a simple tool for complex calculations, programming tasks or an entertainment device for games and music, but also an instrument, which allows creative people to implement their ideas. Personally, creativity brings a joy to life, whilst in the work arena computers offer the possibility to use cutting edge technologies for professional production and presentation of work. On the whole, the most interesting field in IT for me is multimedia – an area that allows various types of creativity to be presented in an electronic environment.
Ever since I started school, I have been fascinated with computers and modern technologies and as a consequence, I eventually started attending training courses at Young Computer Users School. During those two years of study, I learned practical programming principles and software usage skills. Years later, at university, I gained a lot of valuable theoretical knowledge. In 2009 year I finished my studies at the largest technical university in the Baltic States – Kaunas University of Technology and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Informatics with a specialisation in Multimedia Systems.
My main interest started with Adobe software, but above all I enjoyed working with Flash technology because the only limit to creativity is your own imagination. With Flash you can use not only your programming skills but also reveal your abilities to draw, create animations and design. As a result of this interest, I made my final degree project with Flash during my internship in an IT company. In addition, I worked as a Flash designer/programmer in another IT company in Lithuania for almost 15 months. Then, I have relocated to the UK where I worked 2 years as a Flash programmer in a company which is a leading developer and publisher of educational content, with offices in Rutland, UK and a sales base in Dallas, USA. At this moment I stepped into mobile development world and working for start-up USA company – an emerging electronic health records and clinical documentation software provider as an Android developer.
I am focused to be a professional developer. I would like to expand my skills more in Front End web development with HTML5 and also in mobile with native Android, Adobe AIR and other technologies. Meanwhile I am looking for challenges in my life and trying to improve myself all the time as hard as I can.
